FC Barcelona were drawn to face Lyon (holders) while Montpellier will play Chelsea in the UEFA Women’s Champions League last eight on 21/22 & 28/29 March.

Line Røddik Hansen and Vicky Losada of FC Barcelona played 90 minutes each in one of the winning two matches of the round of 16 against Gintras Universitetas (0-9 on aggr). Fc Barcelona have easily knocked the Lithuanian side out of the competiton to make it into the quarter-finals for the third time in a row and fourth time in five years. The Danish defender and the Spanish midfielder have also helped FC Barcelona to become the first Spanish club to reach the semis of the last season’s edition of UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Hedvig Lindhal’s Chelsea reached quarter-finals for the first time in thier history. Chelsea leading 3-0 from the first leg of the round of 16 against FC Rosengård, Hedvig kept another clean sheet in the second leg (1-0) to secure to Chelsea’s place in next round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Katrine Veje, Linda Sembrant, and Virginia Torecilla of Montpellier have booked the quarter-finals spot following a 3-2(9-2 on aggr) win over Brescia. The three players have all featured in the round of 16 matches. Katrine and Virginia scored one goal each in the second leg game while captain Sembrant played 90 minutes of both legs scoring a goal in the second-half of the (first leg) match.

Amanda Sampedro, Irene Paredes, and Vicky Losada lifted the 2018 Cyprus Women’s Cup trophy.

The annual invitational friendly tournament was held from 28th February to 7th March with 12 participating nations.

Spain did completed the course without any fault in this eleventh edition which was his first participation.

Spanish side reached the final after winning the first spot of Group B with seven points (two wins and one draw) without conceding a single goal.

Spain defeated Italy 2-0 in the final in Larnaca. All the three players represented by LTA featured in this clash and helped Spain to the victory. Amanda scored the first goal five minutes after the started of the second-half time, Irene played the full 90 minutes and Virginia also started.
On their way to the title, the three players also played in group stage matches. Amanda made one assist in the first goal against Austria (2-0) and Irene netted Spain’s opener in the 2-0 defeated Czech Republic.

Spain’s squad will now continue to fight for a place in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

Algarve Cup 2018

Eleven players represented by LTA Agency from five different national teams will take part to the 25th annual appointment of a prestigious women’s football event in Portugal this year.

The Algarve Cup is an invitational women’s football tournament held each year since 1994 in the Algarve region of Portugal.
Last year’s trophy was bag by Spain for their first participation with five players represented by LTA in their squad (Amanda Sampedro, Irene Paredes, Veronica Boquete, Virginia Torrecilla and Vicky Losada).
This year the tournament will run from 28 February to 7 March with 12 competing teams organize in 3 groups.

Group A: Norway, Australia, Korea Republic, Portugal.
Group B: Sweden, Canada, China, Russia.
Group C: Denmark, Netherlands, Japan, Iceland.

Young, talented and experienced, a total of 11 players from five different teams that will compete at Algarve Cup 2018 are represented by LTA Agency.

LTA Agency are delighted to announce signing a representation agreement with the young Matildas midfielder Alex Chidiac

The 19-year-old talented Australian midfielder currently plays for Adelaide United in the W- League.
She joined the W-league at just 15, featuring for Adelaide United in the 2014/15 season. One year later, she had a stint at Melbourne City winning the 2016 Grand Final in which she featured, then rejoined Adelaide United later.

The technical left-footed playmaker already earned numerous awards for her young age. Alex won the 2017 inaugural PFA Young Player of the Year and the 2016 Women’s State League Player of the Year. In 2013 she won the Women’s Premier League Player of the Year & the Rising Star Award. She is the youngest player having won this award at age of 14 with 33 goals scored.

Having made her senior debut on 12 February 2015 against New Zealand in Australia’s second victory of Women’s International Tri-Series Tournament, Alex has earned 4 senior international caps so far. She has represented her country as the Matildas won the 2017 Tournament of Nations in the US and the same year she played for Australia at the Algarve Cup. She has been called up again for the Algarve Cup this year. She has also been capped by Australia at under 16, under 17, under 18, under 19, and under 20 levels, as well.

Alex joins her compatriot Aivi Luik also represented by LTA.

Australian international midfielder, Aivi Luik, won the 2018 Championship while Melbourne City FC have broken Australian record by winning their third consecutive W-League title.

Aivi is now quite used to Grand Final matches. Having achieved the incredible record of four W-League titles (three in a row with Melbourne City), she also made her fifth W-League Grand Final appearance last Sunday. She won first title with Brisbane Roar in 2010/2011 season and was a runner-up in 2009/2010.

The history has been made as Aivi played the full 90 minutes against Sydney in front of a new W-League record crowd of 6,025 fans at Allianz Stadium. Melbourne City defeated their opponents 2-0 at home to secure the trophy. With her brillant performance in the semis against Brisbane Roar, the experienced midfielder helped the defending champions to qualify for the final. Aivi opened the scoring at the 66th minute of the semi-final. Melbourne City eliminated Brisbane 2-0 to reach the Grand Final, while Aivi was named Player of the Match.

Aivi (32) came back to Melbourne City this season after a stint at Norwegian Toppserien side Vålerenga where she had reached the Norway Cup final 2017. After her return, she featured in all the remaining qualification steps of Melbourne City until the finals scoring 2 goals in the process. She has thus helped the Champions to lift their historic third successive W-League championship trophy.

Cote D’Ivoire international forwards, Josée Nahi and Tia Inès N’Rehy have joined South Korean top-flight club Gyeongju Women’s Football Club (KHNP).

Inès (24) moves to the South Korea W-League outfit from Turkish side Beşiktaş where she found the net 10 times in 13 league appearances in 2017 as they finished second in Bayanlar Ligi.

Josée (28) comes from Norway’s top Division where she made 20 league appearances and scored 7 goals for Arna-Bjørnar in 2017, adding 4 domestic Cup matches scoring a goal as the club reached the Norwegian Cup semi-finals.

Prior to their respective previous clubs, the two Ivorian compatriots had played together in a Russian Supreme Division side – FC Rossiyanka. It was two years for Inès and one for Josée at this club. They helped FC Rossiyanka to win the 2016 Russian League title and became the first two Ivorians to reach the last 16 of the UEFA Women’s Champion League the same year. Josée’s Russian experience started with another powerhouse Zvezda-2005 Perm, the club where she spent a 2 seasons winning the Russian League and Cup double in 2015 before joining Rossiyanka.

Both players are an integral part of Cote D’Ivoire Women’s National Team; they have already represented their country in various international competitions including two Africa Cup of Nations finals and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015. Inès has earned 25 caps and scored 17 goals for the Éléphantes so far. She was also the first Ivorian to have been nominated for CAF Best African Women Player of the Year Award in 2015. At the same time, Josée has amassed more than 30 caps for the National team, having scored fourteen goals, and has captained the side on a number of occasions.

Cameroon international striker, Ajara Nchout Njoya has signed a contract with Norway’s Top Division (Toppserien) side IL Sandviken

The 25-year-old striker comes from the Swedish club Sundsvalls DFF where she spent two seasons having successfully helped the Elitettan newcomers maintain their place in the league. Ajara joined the team in 2016 and featured in all 26 league games becoming Sundsvall’s best goal scorer with 13 goals and was named player of the year. This past season she was again the club’s best scorer with 9 goals in only 15 matches played.

Prior to Sweden, she played for Western New York Flash in the National Women’s Soccer League in the USA and for the Russian powerhouse, FC Rossiyanka with whom she reached quarterfinals of the 2012-13 UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Ajara has scored 10 goals in 49 senior appearances for Cameroon Women’s National Team. The runner-up of the CAF Women’s AFCON 2016 has also participated with her country in FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada 2015, African Women’s Championship in Namibia 2014 (also runner-up), and Summer Olympics in London 2012.

Spanish international Verónica Boquete has penned a deal with Beijing BG Phoenix Football Club of the Chinese Women’s Super League

The experienced midfielder Vero (30), has joined Beijing after a 1.5-season stint at the French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain. In her maiden season in France, Vero was runner-up of the Coupe de France and the UEFA Women’s Champions League with PSG. Having scored a total of 12 goals in 42 matches for the Paris outfit, she has also contributed 15 assists in 33 matches in the 2016/17 campaign helping the team to two finals in both of which she scored during penalty shoot-outs. The historic all-French UEFA Women’s Champions League final in Cardiff was also Vero’s third Champions League final in the last four years.

Prior to France, she has had a successful time in Germany with Bayern Munich with whom she clinched the Bundesliga title, as well as with 1.FFC Frankfurt with whom she won the UEFA Women’s Champions League to become the only player hailing from Spain to have won this title.

One of the best players in Spanish women’s football history, she brings with her a great deal of experience at both international and club level as she has already played in six different top level championships (France, Germany, Sweden, Russia, United States and Spain) and has won titles in all of them.

Vero has represented and captained her country at major tournaments and has so far scored 34 goals in 54 appearances for Spain. 2016 Algarve Cup winner, she led her country to the historic first FIFA Women’s World Cup participation in Canada in 2015, as well as the successful UEFA Women’s Euro campaign ending at the quarterfinals stage in Sweden in 2013.

La fondation de la star Camerounaise de football internationale Gaëlle Enganamouit a organisé un mini championnat de Noël en Décembre

La Fondation Enfant des Rails (FER) dont l’attaquante internationale Camerounaise Gaëlle Enganamouit est la présidente fondatrice, est une Fondation qui a pour objectif de promouvoir le sport en général, et le football féminin en particulier. D’améliorer les conditions, le confort, d’encadrer et former les jeunes filles et jeunes vulnérables afin de leur donner les mêmes chances d’éducation et de développement.

FER a organisé un mini championnat de Noël qui s’est déroulé du 16 au 30 décembre à Yaoundé la ville natale de la star de football féminin.
Le tournoi composé de huit équipes pour jeunes filles et garçons de plus de 15 ans, dénommé challenge du fair-Play consistait à détecter les nouveaux talents afin de les préparer à l’intégration de la future académie (en projet) de la fondation.

The promising French midfielder has inked her first deal outside her country with Twente FC until the end of the season

Angeline (18) will join the Netherlands top division (Eredivisie) side for her first international experience.

She comes from the French first Division club Rodez Aveyron Football where she played during one and half year.

At only 15, the young talent made her debut in the French football’s highest level and featured in 22 league games in total so far, with different clubs.

Angeline said, “I am happy to be able to join FC Twente. For me, it is a nice step and a sporting challenge to get started abroad. It is good for my development, both as a football player and as a person. I am looking forward to fighting with the team for the top spots.”
