Aboudi renews with Rossiyanka

The 27-year-old Cameroon international forward, Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene, has signed a new contract with Russian powerhouse FC Rossiyanka. 

Aboudi has amassed over 50 caps for Cameroon Women’s National Team and represented her country at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada helping the Indomitable Lionesses past the group stage in a historic first World Cup final appearance. She was consequently nominated for CAF Best African Woman Player of the Year 2015 Award. She has also featured at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, scoring Cameroon’s only goal in the tournament.

Aboudi is a key player for Rossiyanka and recently helped the current Russian Premier League leaders to qualify for the UEFA Women’s Champions League 2016-2017. The new deal will keep her at the club through 2018 season.

21-year-old goalkeeper Andreea Părăluță from Romania has inked her first deal outside her country.

Despite her young age, Andreea has long established herself as the starting goalkeeper for the Romanian National team and was named Best Romanian Female Footballer in 2015.

She recently won the 2015-2016 Cupa României after her club ASA Târgu-Mureș defeated Olimpia Cluj 2:1 in the final. This was her first trophy with Târgu-Mureș following 5 other Cup Final appearances as well as 5 National League runner-up finishes in the last 5 years.

I am very happy and excited to be able to prove myself at one of the best teams in Spain. This is a great opportunity to play at a higher level. I will give my best to help the team, she declared in a statement.

Spanish international Veronica Boquete has signed a two-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain.

The 29-year-old Spanish midfielder and National Team captain was recently crowned the 2015-2016 German Bundesliga champion with FC Bayern Munich. Prior to that, Vero won the UEFA Women’s Champion’s League in 2015 while at FFC Frankfurt and played in 2014 UEFA WCL final with Tyresö FF. Vero has also won trophies in Sweden, Spain, and the USA, was named to the short-list of the FIFA Ballon d’Or among the 10 best players in the world, and was named by UEFA among 5 best players in Europe for three years running.

Vero has so far scored 34 goals in 54 appearances for Spain and led her country to the historic first FIFA Women’s World Cup participation in Canada in 2015, as well as the successful UEFA Women’s Euro campaign ending at the quarterfinals stage in Sweden in 2013. France becomes the 6th country in which one of the best European players plies her trade after Spain, the USA, Russia, Sweden, and Germany.

The Danish international defender has joined Spanish powerhouse FC Barcelona’s women’s team for the 2016/17 season.

Line comes from the 10-time French Champions and current UEFA Women’s Champions League winners, Olympique Lyon after a highly successful half season winning the 2015-2016 French Division 1 Title as well as the French Cup.

Prior to that, the 28-year old played for FC Rosengård (Malmö), with whom she won the Damallsvenskan (Swedish Top League) twice, and the Swedish Super Cup. She has also won Damallsvenskan with another major outfit Tyresö FF and played in 2014 UEFA Women’s Champions League final in Lisbon.

The Danish international with more than 100 caps to her name earned bronze medal with Denmark at the 2013 UEFA Women’s European Championships in Sweden and captained her National team on multiple occasions. She had this to say about her move:

While playing for Zvezda-2005 Perm, Vera won two Russian League titles, one Russian Cup, and played in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final against MSV Duisburg. She has played a remarkable total of 51 games in the UEFA WCL and scored 27 goals so far.

Additionally, the Ukrainian international has earned 63 caps and scored 22 goals for her country playing an important part in Ukraine’s only major tournament participation to date – 2009 UEFA Women’s Euro in Finland. Vera joins Huelva from the Swedish powerhouse Linköping where she won 2015 Swedish Cup scoring in the final.

Zenatha and Thomalina won the 2015-2016 Lithuanian Women’s Cup after winning every single game.

Both players featured in every Cup match including the final won by their FK Gintra-Universitetas team in style – 10:0 over LSU-Žara.

Prior to joining Gintra, the two Namibian internationals won their home country’s Women’s Super League defending the colors of Tura Magic FC. Thomalina proved key with her signature crosses and surging runs from the right wing, while Zenatha was amongst the top goal scorers with an incredible tally of 53 goals in 18 matches.

The duo continued their winning streak at Gintra, which has dominated women’s football in Lithuania, winning the A Lyga for the past 11 years in a row. The next challenge for the players will be UEFA Women’s Champions League preliminary round as Gintra are scheduled to take on the Champions of Kazakhstan, Ireland, and Moldova at the end of August.

The 31-year-old midfielder joins Europe’s best team. Lyon have won the Champion League three times in the past 6 years and has played in two finals. They recently won their tenth straight league title.

It is a great challenge; one cannot go to a better club or get to a higher level. There’s a world class player in every position at OL, said Seger, and I feel happy to be staying in France and not to have to learn a new language.

Spanish international, Irene Paredes has signed a one-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 30 June 2017.

The 25-year-old defender, who recently won the Spanish championship with Athletic Bilbao, played 26 matches for the Basque side last season. She scored an impressive 25 goals in 128 games for Bilbao.

Irene has so far earned 33 caps for Spanish National Team scoring one goal. She played all matches as Spain reached quarterfinals of the 2013 UEFA Women’s Euros in Sweden as well as all the group matches at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for me to come and play for Paris Saint-Germain,” declared Irene Paredes. “I have enjoyed a magnificent season with Athletic Bilbao, and I’m sure that I will experience just as much joy and success with Paris Saint-Germain. Ajax captain Petra Hogewoning retires from professional football.
The 30-year-old Dutch international defender has competed for the AFC Ajax women’s team for the last four years in the Eredivisie and the BeNe League finishing 4th, 3rd on two occasions, and finally as a runner-up this season.

She has also won the historic 2013-2014 KNVB (Netherlands Royal Football Federation) Women’s Cup, the first ever trophy for Ajax’s women’s team. Prior to Ajax, Petra played for FCR Duisburg in the German Bundesliga, as well as for the WFC Zvezda-2005 in Russia where she won a bronze medal in the Russian Premier League and reached quarterfinals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Her international football career started in 2004 when she made her full national team debut in a match against Japan. She went on to have a very successful international career earning over 100 caps for the Netherlands with the highlights including advancing to the UEFA Women’s European Championship semi-finals in 2009 in Finland as well as the historic first FIFA Women’s World Cup participation in Canada last year.
