Aivi Luik signs with IFK Kalmar

The 33-year-old international midfielder Aivi Luik has penned a deal with IFK Kalmar of Damallsvenskan in Sweden

The Australian superstar has joined the Swedish’s top league from 2018 W-League winner Melbourne City and brings with her a vast international experience.
Aivi made nine appearances and netted twice for the Melbourne City that she joined in the second half of the 2017–18 W-league season.
The skilled defensive midfielder, with her quality game as well as her experience, has helped Melbourne City to clinch their historic third successive title of the W-League which was Aivi fourth trophy.

Prior to her home country, Aivi spent a spell in Norway with Vålerenga with that she reached the final of the Norwegian Women’s Cup. As one of the W-League’s best known midfielders, Aivi has already played football at high level for teams across three continents and for six different championships (USA, Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Norway and England, as well as in Australia).

Aivi only has nine caps for the Matildas, after featuring for the Matildas in one match of the recent AFC Women’s Asian cup where they ended runner-up, and to one friendly game against Thailand. A few of injuries kept her away from the Australia Women’s National Team selection since 2011 at the AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifiers.

Midfielders Aivi Luik and Alex Chidiac are the finalists of the 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup Final and qualified for the World Cup

The 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup was held in Amman, Jordan between 6 to 20 April. It is a major tournament that has also served as 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier which will be held in France.

Two of LTA’s players were part of The Matildas squad which have stayed unbeatable in all their four games before the final where, they have finally lost 1-0 against Japan, the defending champion.

The Melbourne City star Aivi (33) who has recently won the third title of W-League subbed in Australia’s 8-0 win against Vietnam. She represented her country as the Matildas won the 2010 Asian Cup.

The young Adelaide United playmaker, Alex (19) featured in two matches. She played 90 minutes and made one assist against Vietnam and started in the semi-final against Thailand. She also played in Algarve Cup and now earned nine caps and one goal with her National team.

Involved in Female football since 1995 as an Agent, Coach, assistant coach and Sporting Director, the experienced Norwegian Nils has coached on every level and has been an assistant coach and sporting Manager in a Norwegian Toppserien club in 2010 (Donn Toppfotball).

Nils speaks Norwegian, Swedish and English. He has mostly worked as a player agent since 2011 and has done business in several countries as in Norway, Sweden, England, Germany, and the USA. He has also worked as a scout for many teams in the same period and has facilitated transfers both nationally and internationally.

The new representative is ambitious and passionate about improving the situation of players in women’s football.

Fatou Coulibaly, Rebecca Elloh, Rita Akaffou and Ngozi Ebere have won a historic Cyprus league title with Barcelona FA

Barcelona FA won their first ever Cyprus league title last Sunday after defeating AMOK Chrysomilia 10-1 in their last but one game of the 2017/18 season.

With this impressive home victory over AMOK Chrysomilia , Barcelona FA extended their unbeaten streak to 17 games with 16 victories and one draw to end Apollon’s bid for a 10th consecutive title.

The Ivorian forward Rebecca played 16 matches and scored 27 goals. She is currently the 2nd scorer of the team and the 4th of the league. Her compatriot Rita, midfielder played 15 matches and scored 8 goals.
Defenders, Fatou the Ivorian and Ngozi Ebere of Nigeria each featured in 15 matches scoring six goals.

They will be host by Lefkothea in their closing league match on April 15th at 10.

Chelsea’s Swedish goalkeeper and her team are through to the 2017/18 UEFA Women’s Champions League last-four for the first time

Chelsea’s good performance in the quarter-finals against the French side Montpellier HSC earned them a spot in the semi-finals where they will face German powerhouse Wolfsburg on April 24th/28th.

Hedvig played 90 minutes in both legs against Montpellier HSC. Chelsea beat the last season’s French top flight runners-up 3-1 at home for a 5-1 win on aggregate.
Linda Sembrant, Katrine Veje, and Virginia Torecilla (three other players represented by LTA) of Montpellier featured in both legs.

Line Roddick and Vicky Losada also represented by LTA have lost 1-3 on aggregate against the holders – Lyon. FC Barcelona saw their participation end earlier this season than last season when they reached the semis for the first time.

Teenage midfielder, Alex Chidiac opened her senior international goals tally as Australia stunned Thailand 5-0 at home

The 19-year-old midfielder of Adelaide United won her 8th full cap for her country’s Women’s National Team in a friendly match against Thailand. Alex played the full 90 minutes and scored the opener six minutes after the start of the match.

The talented left-footed playmaker made her international debut at age sixteen as a substitute in Australia’s 3-2 win over New Zealand on 12 February 2015.

The next match of the Matildas will be played against Korea Republic next week in AFC Women’s Asian Cup.

Sweden goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl and Spain defender Irene Paredes have been named in the 2017 FIFPro Women’s World Best XI

Hedvig Lindahl (34) plays for Chelsea FC Ladies who have already reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League are maintaining the challenge to top the English Super League. She helped Sweden to reach the last eight of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2017. She has represented her country in various international competitions earning 147 caps so far, which makes her the most capped Sweden goalkeeper, male or female.

Irene Paredes (26) plays for Paris Saint-Germain with whom she reached the UEFA Women’s Champions League final and Coupe de France Feminine final last season 2016/17. She is the only player from Spain to figure in the annual FIFPro Women’s World XI. The 2017 Algarve Cup’s best player and winner was also crowned 2018 Cyprus Women’s Cup winner. Irene also represented her country in the last Women’s Euro in the Netherlands. She has amassed 52 caps and seven goals for her National team.

More than 4,100 leading female players across 45 countries voted for the FIFPro Women’s World XI which was announced Thursday to coincide with International Women’s Day. It is the third year that FIFPro, the global group of players’ unions, has compiled a women’s team.

Although they did not make the final list, three other LTA players were among the 55 originally nominated:

FC Barcelona were drawn to face Lyon (holders) while Montpellier will play Chelsea in the UEFA Women’s Champions League last eight on 21/22 & 28/29 March.

Line Røddik Hansen and Vicky Losada of FC Barcelona played 90 minutes each in one of the winning two matches of the round of 16 against Gintras Universitetas (0-9 on aggr). Fc Barcelona have easily knocked the Lithuanian side out of the competiton to make it into the quarter-finals for the third time in a row and fourth time in five years. The Danish defender and the Spanish midfielder have also helped FC Barcelona to become the first Spanish club to reach the semis of the last season’s edition of UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Hedvig Lindhal’s Chelsea reached quarter-finals for the first time in thier history. Chelsea leading 3-0 from the first leg of the round of 16 against FC Rosengård, Hedvig kept another clean sheet in the second leg (1-0) to secure to Chelsea’s place in next round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Katrine Veje, Linda Sembrant, and Virginia Torecilla of Montpellier have booked the quarter-finals spot following a 3-2(9-2 on aggr) win over Brescia. The three players have all featured in the round of 16 matches. Katrine and Virginia scored one goal each in the second leg game while captain Sembrant played 90 minutes of both legs scoring a goal in the second-half of the (first leg) match.

Amanda Sampedro, Irene Paredes, and Vicky Losada lifted the 2018 Cyprus Women’s Cup trophy.

The annual invitational friendly tournament was held from 28th February to 7th March with 12 participating nations.

Spain did completed the course without any fault in this eleventh edition which was his first participation.

Spanish side reached the final after winning the first spot of Group B with seven points (two wins and one draw) without conceding a single goal.

Spain defeated Italy 2-0 in the final in Larnaca. All the three players represented by LTA featured in this clash and helped Spain to the victory. Amanda scored the first goal five minutes after the started of the second-half time, Irene played the full 90 minutes and Virginia also started.
On their way to the title, the three players also played in group stage matches. Amanda made one assist in the first goal against Austria (2-0) and Irene netted Spain’s opener in the 2-0 defeated Czech Republic.

Spain’s squad will now continue to fight for a place in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

Algarve Cup 2018

Eleven players represented by LTA Agency from five different national teams will take part to the 25th annual appointment of a prestigious women’s football event in Portugal this year.

The Algarve Cup is an invitational women’s football tournament held each year since 1994 in the Algarve region of Portugal.
Last year’s trophy was bag by Spain for their first participation with five players represented by LTA in their squad (Amanda Sampedro, Irene Paredes, Veronica Boquete, Virginia Torrecilla and Vicky Losada).
This year the tournament will run from 28 February to 7 March with 12 competing teams organize in 3 groups.

Group A: Norway, Australia, Korea Republic, Portugal.
Group B: Sweden, Canada, China, Russia.
Group C: Denmark, Netherlands, Japan, Iceland.

Young, talented and experienced, a total of 11 players from five different teams that will compete at Algarve Cup 2018 are represented by LTA Agency.
