Irene Paredes won a silver medal with Spain at the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 and was named to the tournament’s best team

Spain won the silver medal in an exciting European championship course, which ended in the final where they lost to England in a penalty shootout on July 27th in Basel.

The UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, held in Switzerland from July 2nd to the 27th, will remain historic for Spain, which won a Euro semi-final for the first ever time and advanced to the Women’s European Championship final.

Irene and Spain won the semi-final by defeating Germany 1-0 in extra time to qualify for the final against England. They had five victories from six at EURO 2025.

Irene played and captained five matches, from the second group stage match to the Women’s European Championship final, contributing to one goal. Her impact was undeniable on Spain’s second-place finish at the Euro 2025. The 34-year-old defender played a crucial role in solidifying Spain’s backline, a brilliance that earned her a spot in the tournament’s best XI.

South African Refiloe Jane, Ghana’s Comfort Yeboah, and Nancy Amoh have advanced to the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals

From the original twelve players represented by LTA Agency at the 2024 Women’s AFCON, three remain as the race for the title heats up.

Refiloe captained Banyana Banyana’s quarterfinal match against Senegal on Saturday. They won 4-1 on penalties at the Honneur Stadium to book a spot in the semi-final.

Ghana’s Black Queens are through to the semi-finals of WAFCON 2024 after a 4-2 win over Algeria on penalties. Yeboah played 90 minutes, and Nancy was on the substitute list.

Both semi-finals matches will be play on Tuesday, Sud Africa will face Nigeria while Ghana will face Morocco.

Five other players represented by the LTA Agency from Mali and Zambia also qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. But they did not succeed in reaching the semi-final.

Spanish international midfielder Verónica Boquete has joined Como 1907 for the 2025/26 season

Former player of Fiorentina, Vero has decided to remain in Italy for the next season with Como 1907.

Vero has made 23 appearances for Fiorentina, scoring eight goals last season. She helped them achieve third place in the Serie A table in the previous two seasons. She joined Fiorentina in 2022 from AC Milan, the first Italian club where she made her Serie A debut in 2020.

On the international stage, Vero is a former captain of the Spanish national team with an impressive tally of over 50 caps.

Proven and experienced players, Boquete will bring a wealth of experience and quality to Como, which will benefit the club and all its young players.

Irene Paredes and Spain are through the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025

Spain completed their group stage with a 3-1 victory over Italy in Bern. It was a win that has ensured them the top spot in Group B which included Italy, Belgium, and Portugal. They won all of their group stage games to get to the quarterfinals. Irene played against Italy (3-1) and scored a goal as they defeated Belgium (6-2).

Spain will face the hosts Switzerland in Bern on Friday in the quarterfinal match.

Irene has a strong experience at this level of competition, having reached the quarterfinals with Spain in the last three editions.

Aïssata devient la première joueuse malienne à s’engager dans le championnat féminin américain, la NWSL.

La talentueuse malienne continuera d’évoluer en prêt en France avec Fleury 91 après avoir signé aux États-Unis à Boston Legacy avant de rejoindre son nouveau club pour sa première pré-saison en 2026.

Depuis son arrivée en Arkema Première Ligue en juillet 2024, elle a inscrit neuf buts et délivré quatre passes décisives en 20 matchs pour Fleury 91. L’internationale malienne a également joué au sein d’un autre club français, le Guingamp, de 2019 à 2024.

Elle avait signé au Beşiktaş en Turquie en 2019 en provenance du Mali. Cette signature la distingue non seulement en tant que première joueuse malienne transférée en première ligue turque, mais également la première à remporter  le championnat turc cette saison.

Aïssata est actuellement au Maroc pour sa seconde participation à la Coupe d’Afrique des nations féminine, après sa première en 2018 où elle avait aidé sa sélection à atteindre les demi-finales pour la première fois.

Aissata Traore and Fatoumata Diarra played with Mali during his last participation in 2018; they helped the team reach the semifinals at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

For all the other players, they will make their WAFCON starting debut.

Twelve teams have qualified for the event, which will take place in Morocco from July 5 to 26, 2025. South Africa (the reigning champions), Morocco, Algeria, Ghana, Botswana, DR Congo, Tanzania, Mali, Tunisia, Senegal, Zambia, and Nigeria.

Tanzania’s Clara Luvanga, Asha Omary, and Violeth Mwamakamba were crowned 2025 CECAFA champions after defeating Kenya

Clara Luvanga scored the only goal of the final as Tanzania’s national team, Twiga Star, clinched the CECAFA Women’s Championship title after defeating Kenya 1-0.

The triumph of Twiga Stars in the final yesterday at Azam Complex Stadium in Dar es Salam has kept their perfect winning run intact, as they finished the tournament without conceding a single goal.

Al-Nassr FC forward Clara Luvanga scored tree goals in total and features in all games with Simba Queens striker Violeth and Asha Omary of Yanga.

Kenya and Goalkeeper Liliane Awuor received silver medals, while Uganda picked up bronze medals.

The CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship took place from 12th to 22nd June in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Five nations—Burundi, Kenya, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda—took part in the regional tournament organized by CECAFA in collaboration with the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF).
The competition was aimed at preparing CECAFA’s representative for the upcoming 2025 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Laura Rus, Estelle Gnaly, and Lilian Awuor have won the 2024/25 Romania Super League for the second consecutive season with Farul Constanța

Farul finished the 2024-2025 Super League season in style after a resounding 10-1 victory over Universitatea Cluj in their last league match.

This year, LTA players once again made their mark on the Romania championship, contributing significantly to their club’s championship victories. They allowed Farul to keep the title by making an entire Super League season without a single defeat in 26 matches.

Kenyan goalkeeper Lilian Awuor Onyango played a crucial role in solidifying Farul’s backline, contributing to an impressive ten clean sheets in her 19 league appearances during the season.
Romanian striker Laura Rus netted 11 goals in 22 league appearances while the Ivorian striker Estelle Gnaly played six games and scored two goals.

The players have now added a second Romanian trophy to their achievement and are qualified for the next UEFA Women’s Champions League.
