Sweden women’s national team goal keeper Hedvig Lindahl has joined Swedish top-flight Djurgårdens IF on a one-and-half-year deal
Experienced Swedish goalkeeper is back at home after spells in England, Germany, and Spain. Hedvig brings with her more experience and titles won in each of these countries.
Hedvig joins the Damallsvenskan side Djurgårdens IF after spending the previous two seasons with Atlético Madrid in Spain.
In the 2020/21 season, she moved to the Spanish Liga Iberdrola, where she made 21 league appearances for Atlético Madrid. She won the Spain Super Cup in her first season and was runner-up in her second season.
In Germany, she won a double (league and cup) with Wolfsburg in the 2019/2020 season.
In England, during her five seasons spent in the FA Women’s Super League, she has won two League Championships and two FA Cup titles.
Hedvig who is actually in England playing Euro, has enjoyed a big rise at the international level, making 185 appearances for Sweden and backstopping the sweden to many titles. One World Cup silver, two World Cup bronzes, two EURO bronzes, and two Olympic silvers.
The 10-time Swedish Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year, Hedvig has also been named Sweden’s best female football player twice.
