Sweden star Linda Sembrant has inked a contract extension with the Italian Serie A giants juventus through to June 2021
Sembrant joined Juventus from French Division 1 outfit Montpellier FC last summer on a one-year deal. The experienced central defender has quickly become a key part of Juventus’squad. She has already made 20 appearances in all competitions, scoring 3 goals this season. She has featured in all the 15 Serie A matches that the club has played until now and scored two goals in the process. Juventus currently occupy the first spot in the league table.
Sembrant won her first trophy in Italy by lifting the 2019/20 Super Cup after playing the full 90 minutes of a 2–0 win over Fiorentina in the final. She has also scored a goal in the ongoing Coppa Italia.
The Swedish veteran already counts 120 caps and 11 goals with the national team. Sembrant took part in the last three FIFA Women’s World Cup (2019, 2015, 2011), to two Olympic Games (2016 and 2012) as well as many other international hight compétitions.
The 32-year-old defender has been recently rewarded in in her native country as she was named the 2019 Women’s Defender of the Year.
