Sweden forward Marija Banušić has left Montpellier to join Italy’s Serie A club AS Roma
The 25-year-old, who joined Montpellier HSC in the 2018/19 season, scored three times in 13 appearances for the French Division 1 Féminine club. An injury limited her first-team action last season as Montpellier ended the Ligue in the third position.
Prior to her French experience, she spent a stint in China Women’s Super League with Beijing BG Phoenix. In her bright career, she mostly played in her country’s top clubs like Linköpings FC, Eskilstuna United DFF, and Kristianstads DFF. She won the championship in 2017 and was Swedish Cup Runner-up three times. The young striker also experienced English football with Chelsea FC in the FA Women’s Super League with whom she won the League and Cup in 2015.
With seven senior Swedish National Team caps, 29 youth caps, and a total of 34 international goals for Sweden, Marija holds loads of experience despite her age at 25.
LTA Agency congratulate Marija and wish her good luck at Roma.
