Irene Paredes and Barbra Banda are all heading to Paris this summer, having been named respectively by the Spain and Zambia Olympic squads

After being called up by their respective nations, two players represented by LTA Agency are set to feature at the upcoming Olympics.

Already well known on the international stage, Banda will represent her country at the Olympics for the second time in a row. She captained the Zambian squad at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, the first time Zambia competed at the international tournament. The forward became the first female player to score successive hat-tricks at the Olympic Games against the Netherlands and China in 202.

The 33-year-old striker recently represented her country at last summer’s FIFA World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. She has already scored 53 national team goals in 60 appearances.

The Zambians will come up against the United States, Germany, and Australia in Group B.

Spain captain Irene Paredes and her country will make their Olympic debut in France. Spain has never previously appeared at a Women’s Olympic Football Tournament.  Irene Paredes won the 2023 Women’s World Cup with her country. She is a veteran with 107 caps and 12 goals for the Spain women’s national team.

The 33-year-old defender and her compatriots will come up against Australia, Nigeria and Brazil in Group C.

The tournament is taking place between Thursday 25 July and Saturday 10 August with games taking place all over France in Marseille, Lyon, Paris, Bordeaux, Saint-Etienne, Nice, and Nantes.
Twelve countries will contest the group stages, before the knock-out rounds, with the gold-medal match set to be played on August 10.

The different groups:

Group A: France, Colombia, Canada, New Zealand
Group B: United States, Zambia, Germany, Australia
Group C: Spain, Japan, Nigeria, Brazil

LTA Agency wish good luck to their players involved at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
