LTA players have advanced to the second round of qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026 with Burkina Faso, Mali, Kenya, and Tanzania

The first round of qualifiers for WAFCON Morocco 2026 concluded on Wednesday night.
Adele Kabre scored a hat trick in the second leg to help Burkina Faso dominate Burundi (4-1) after a 1-0 first-leg win. Alimata Belem, Madinatou Rouamba, and Adèle Kabre played the two games.

Mali has advanced to the second round after a dominant performance against Gabon. Fatou Dembélé, Aissata Traoré, and Saratou Traoré helped Mali secure their place in the next stage with a resounding 4-0 victory in the return leg on Tuesday, completing a comprehensive 9-0 aggregate win over the two matches. Fatou scored a goal, and Aissata scored a hat trick in the first leg.

Kenyan eliminated Tunisia with the help of Lilian Awuor, Tereza Engesha, Jentrix Shikangwa , and Cynthia Shilwatso. They secured a 0-0 draw in the first leg before clinching an important 1-0 win in the return leg thanks to Lilian Awuor saving a penalty and Tereza Engesha scoring the goal’s victory.

Clara Luvanga and Violeth Nicholaus of Tanzania also booked their spot after a 3-1 home win and a 1-1 draw in Equatorial Guinea, inspired by their standout player, Clara Luvanga, who featured in the two legs.

More LTA players will make their entry in the Second Round, which will take place from October 20 to 28, 2025. Africa’s top women’s football teams, such as Nigeria, South Africa, Cameroon, Ghana, Zambia, and Côte d’Ivoire, will mark their entry. All teams will battle for a spot in the final tournament in Morocco in 2026.
