Banyana Banyana midfielder Leandra Smeda earned 100 caps with the South Africa Women’s National Team in a friendly match against Japan
The 30-year-old international player Leandra made her 100th appearance for her country in a friendly international match against Japan in Fukuoka on Sunday, 10 November 2019. South Africa lost 2-0 to hosts Japan, versatile Leandra played the full match.
Vittjso midfielder Leandra Smeda is the 9th Banyana Banyana player to achieve this feat. She got her first call up to the national team in 2010 (Cyprus Cup) and has gone on to play at FIFA Women’s World Cup (2019) and three CAF African Women Cup of Nations helping South Africa to win Silver in Ghana 2018. The experienced midfielder also helped her country for three successive COSAFA Gold Medals.
