LTA players lift the Tanzania title

Ruth Aturo, Jentrix Shikangwa, Asha Omary, and Cynthia Shilwatso have been crowned the 2025/26 Tanzania Women's Premier League champions with Simba Queens FC

Champions of Tanzania, our four players made a significant contribution to Simba Queens’ fifth trophy, with Jentrix currently second in the season’s Golden Boot race.

Ugandan goalkeeper Ruth Aturo, who joined the club in September, slotted in as a key piece in the team. She played a crucial role in goal, contributing to the team’s unbeaten streak so far.

Kenya striker Jentrix is a lethal goalscorer who earned the affection of local fans. With 16 goals scored, she is currently the second-top scorer in the league.

Asha Omary from Tanzania moved to Simba in October. Her outstanding performances as both a full-back and winger have contributed greatly to the team’s success, scoring 2 goals so far this season.

Cynthia Shilwatso joined Simba in September. The Kenyan attacking midfielder has shown remarkable resilience throughout the campaign after battling injuries suffered early in the season.

The victory marks a notable achievement for the players, with Jentrix adding another trophy to her collection. It’s her 3rd Tanzania title with the club and the first for Asha Omary, Cynthia and Ruth in their first campaign with the team.

Simba will represent the country in the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA zonal qualifiers that will take place in Rwanda.

The celebrations of the trophy at KMC Complex followed their last but one game of the season, which ended up with a 1-1 draw over Alliance Girls FC

LTA Agency Director Anton Maksimov joined the players on the field after the match to congratulate them on their victory in the 2025/26 Tanzania Championship.
