Romanian international midfielder Ştefania Vătafu has prolonged her contract with Belgium’s Women’s Super League powerhouse RSC Anderlecht
The 27-year-old midfielder joined Anderlecht from the Spanish club UDG Tenerife in 2018. She won the Belgian Women’s Super League title twice in 2019/20 and 2018/19, and her team are currently leading the League by 7 points with 4 matches remaining. She also won BeNe Cup in 2020 with the Mauves and featured in UEFA Women’s Champions League this current season and the two previous seasons with her club.
Ştefania played various other Champions League campaigns prior to arriving in Belgium reaching the round of 16 with her former clubs Olimpia Cluj and CFF Clujana in her home country where she won multiple league and cup titles with these two clubs.
A stalwart of Romania Women’s National Team, she played 90 minutes in Romania’s last international encounter against Croatia winning 1-0 away in the UEFA Women’s Euro qualifier.
