Banyana Banyana stalwart Refiloe Jane has made history as she has become the first South African player to move to an Italian club. She has joined a Serie A powerhouse AC Milan.
The 27-year-old South Africa international midfielder Refiloe arrived in Milano from Canberra United where she scored two goals and provided an assist in 10 appearances for the club last season (all starts). Prior to Australian W-League, she played in her home country for such clubs as Colchester United LFC, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Vaal University of Technology.
The veteran of 116 caps and 12 goals for Banyana Banyana, Refiloe is South Africa’s key player and has captained her country on a number of occasions. She has represented South Africa in the Olympic Games in Rio as well as at their first-ever appearance in a FIFA Women’s World Cup in France last summer.
Refiloe will be the third player represented by LTA Agency at AC Milan after the Italians Deborah Salvatori Rinaldi and Alessia Piazza. She will wear the number 15 jersey for the 2019/2020 season which is scheduled to get underway on Saturday, 14 September.
LTA Agency congratulate Refiloe on the signing and wish her good luck in this new and exciting challenge in Italy.
