Irene Paredes and Gabrielle Aboudi Onguéné are our players who have been shortlisted for the FIFA FIFPro Women’s World XI for 2021
Voted for by professional footballers across the globe, the FIFPRO World XI celebrates the world’s finest footballers at the end of each calendar year.
We have the privilege each year to have talented players represented by us, nominated in the selection list of FIFA FIFPro Women’s World XI. Two of them have already made the final XI: Sweden goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl and Spain defender Irene Paredes.
FC Barcelona’s Irene Paredes is again among the two LTA players in the 23-strong preliminary list.
It continues the 30-year-old defender’s superb year, with Irene also having been named 2020/21 Women’s Champions League Defender of the season and nominated the top ten list of UEFA Women’s Player of the Year nominees. Irene who was named in the 2017 FIFPRO World XI and has already been nominated many times, remains one of the world’s finest defenders.
Cameroon Striker Gabrielle Onguene, who plays for Russian premier league giants CSKA Moscow, has made the 23-player shortlist for the FIFPro Women’s World XI for the first time.
The 32-year-old has enjoyed a wonderful 2021, helping her club to end Runner-up of the league and cup in her fifth season at the club. Indomitable lionesses Captain, Aboudi lead her country to the last AWCON 2022 qualification round.
The final XI will be announced on Monday 17 January 2022 during the ceremony of The Best FIFA Football Awards
