Laura Rus, Estelle Gnaly, and Lilian Awuor have lifted the 2023–24 Liga 1 title with Farul Constanţa
Strikers Laura, Estelle, and goalkeeper Lilian have made history as they helped Farul Constanţa win their first-ever league title for Romania in only one season in the first league.
The three LTA players helped Farul Constanta win the coveted Romanian championship title. Laura Rus, Estelle Gnaly and Lilian Awuor were instrumental to this milestone achievement. With two games left to play, they have won the league after beating Universitatea Cluj 2-1 away on Sunday. Farul thus dethroned Universitatea Cluj, the reigning champion for the previous twelve years.
The Kenyan goalkeeper, Lilian has participated in every game since joining the club in February. She immediately cemented herself as the starting keeper after her performances. In ten games, she contributed to seven wins and two draws for them. Being the champion of Romania is Lilian’s first international trophy.
Ivorian striker Estelle Gnaly joined the club in March, she has featured in seven play-off matches and netted three goals. It is a great achievement for Gnaly who won her maiden trophy with her first club abroad.
Romanian veteran Laura Rus, went back home last May. She has already played in more than six counties. The experienced striker is the club’s key player. She has contributed to two goals during the play-off matches. It is her first league title won in her country.
We congratulate Laura, Estelle, and Lilian on this historic achievement.
