Lindahl, Seger and Enganamouit with prestigious awards in Sweden

11 Nov 2015

Hedvig Lindahl, Caroline Seger and Gaelle Enganamouit were all recognized for their achievements at the Swedish Football Federation's annual awards ceremony - Fotbollsgalan 2015.

As expected Gaelle took home the “golden boot” for the best goal scorer in Sweden with her 18 goals in Damallsvenskan, which have helped her team Eskilstuna United to finish second in the League and qualify for the Champions League.

Seger was deservedly named best midfielder of the year. She was excellent in her first season in France as she led Paris Saint-Germain to second in the League, to the UEFA Women’s Champions League final in Berlin, and was named team captain.

The star of the night was Hedvig with her double award for best goalkeeper of the year and most importantly for the best Swedish female player – the Diamantbollen, which she has won for the first time in her career. Hedvig has had a remarkable year leading Chelsea FC to a historic double by winning FA Women’s Cup and FA Women’s Super League in her first year in England.

Unfortunately Hedvig wasn’t able to attend the ceremony held at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm due to the preparations for an important Champions League match against German powerhouse VFL Wolfsburg, and her reception speech was broadcast in a special video.
