Irene extends with Barcelona
Spain defender Irene Paredes has signed a new contract with FC Barcelona through June 30, 2025

The player has forced her way into the team as she has become one of the unavoidable members of the starting eleven of the club and also one of the team captains. She counts 57 matches played and eight goals scored so far in all competitions with FC Barcelona. Last season, she helped the club to retain the league title as they won a treble, the league, cup, and super cup.
This season, Paredes has already appeared in 12 of Barcelona’s 15 league matches, assisting the team in keeping clean sheets thanks to her ability to make strategic defensive moves. She also help the club to claim its third-ever trophy of the Spanish Cup last Sunday.
She made history with the FC Barcelone on Wednesday, Paredes played the full 90 minutes against Levante Las Planas side where the club won (7-0) to claimed a record of 50 league games won in a row.
