The 36-year-old Sweden international goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl has sealed a one-year deal with VfL Wolfsburg.
The former Chelsea shot-stopper who helped Sweden to World Cup bronze medal has joined German champion VfL Wolfsburg.
Hedvig moves to VfL Wolfsburg from England side Chelsea FC where she spent four-and-a-half successful years. After joining Chelsea in December 2014 she has cemented her place as the club’s first-choice stopper. Having made 77 appearances for the Blues in total, Hedvig won the FA Women’s Super League and the Women’s FA Cup in 2015 and 2018, plus the 2017 Spring Series. She also earned a spot in the 2016 WSL1 Team of the Year and was nominated for PFA Women’s Player of the Year.
A veteran of 165 international caps, the experienced goalkeeper has represented her country in numerous top level competitions: five FIFA World Cups, three Olympic Games and multiple European Championships.
