Denmark and Sweden have qualified for the finals of the 2022 UEFA Women’s EURO
Denmark of Sofie Junge Pedersen, Signe Bruun and Caroline Møller Hansen and Sweden of Hedvig Lindahl and Linda Sembrant are among the first nations that booked their Women’s EURO finals spots.
UEFA Women’s EURO qualifying is in progress with a record 47 teams competing for 15 places alongside hosts England in the finals planned to be staged from 6 to 31 July 2022.
Denmark, England (hosts), Germany, Netherlands (holders), Norway and Sweden are the teams qualified for the final tournament so far.
Denmark clinched their place on 27 October with a 3-1 win over Italy; they made it nine wins out of nine to ensure their qualification. Sofie featured in six qualifiers scoring a goal, Signe played 4 games scoring a goal, and Caroline played one game. Denmark are Women’s EURO 2017 Runners-up, featuring Sofie and another player represented by LTA – Line Røddik Hansen.
Sweden won 2-0 against Iceland on Tuesday to ensure their finals
place. With the help of Hedvig Lindahl and Linda Sembrant in Women’s EURO 2017, Sweden reached the quarter-finals. In the current campaign, Hedvig played 3 matches while Linda featured in all qualifiers scoring 3 goals. Two other players represented by LTA are in the running to make the final Sweden squad – Marija Banušić and Emma Berglund.
