Zambia young international striker Barbra Banda has moved to Chinese Women’s Super League (CWSL) side Shanghai Shengli.
Banda comes from Spanish Primera Iberdrola top-flight outfit EDF Logroño whom she joined in October 2018 from Zambian side Green Buffaloes FC. The 19-year-old striker spent a successful spell at Logroño where she recorded 15 goals in 28 appearances. She helped the team to stay in the league in 2018/19 and to turn them into a formidable side in the 2019/20 campaign.
Banda is the first female Zambian footballer to work with us, and LTA Agency arranged her first ever transfer abroad (EDF Logroño, Spain) making her the first female Zambian professional football player. She is a multi-sport athlete who also excels in another sport – boxing.
Banda is an indispensable member of Zambia Women’s National team. She recently captained the Copper Queens as they reached the final round of the African qualifiers for this year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo. They still have to face Cameroon in March to attempt the final qualification for this year’s multisport event for the first time.
LTA Agency congratulate Barbra Banda on her impressive progress and wish her good luck in China.
