Aïssata Traoré won her first title abroad

16 May 2019

The 21-year-old Malian striker, Aïssata Traoré won Turkish Women's League with Beşiktaş Ladies.

Aïssata joined Turkish Top flight side Beşiktaş in early February from Malian club Super Lionne. She has contribuated a lot for Beşiktaş to this title. Since her arrival, she featured in all league games, scoring eight goals in nine appearances.

Beşiktaş ended the regular season on level terms with ALG Spor, so to decide the winners, the Turkish Football Federation scheduled a final play-off between the two teams last Sunday at a neutral venue in Manavgat. Aïssata scored the only goal of this game, thus offering Beşiktaş their fist league title.

With this achievement, the team will be part of UEFA Champions League next term.
