Aboudi renews with Rossiyanka

26 Jul 2016

The 27-year-old Cameroon international forward, Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene, has signed a new contract with Russian powerhouse FC Rossiyanka.

Aboudi has amassed over 50 caps for Cameroon Women’s National Team and represented her country at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada helping the Indomitable Lionesses past the group stage in a historic first World Cup final appearance. She was consequently nominated for CAF Best African Woman Player of the Year 2015 Award. She has also featured at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, scoring Cameroon’s only goal in the tournament.

Aboudi is a key player for Rossiyanka and recently helped the current Russian Premier League leaders to qualify for the UEFA Women’s Champions League 2016-2017. The new deal will keep her at the club through 2018 season.

LTA wish Aboudi the best of luck at Rossiyanka as the club strive to win back the Russian League title and have a successful campaign in Europe.
