Tanzania’s Clara Luvanga, Asha Omary, and Violeth Mwamakamba were crowned 2025 CECAFA champions after defeating Kenya

Clara Luvanga scored the only goal of the final as Tanzania’s national team, Twiga Star, clinched the CECAFA Women’s Championship title after defeating Kenya 1-0.

The triumph of Twiga Stars in the final yesterday at Azam Complex Stadium in Dar es Salam has kept their perfect winning run intact, as they finished the tournament without conceding a single goal.

Al-Nassr FC forward Clara Luvanga scored tree goals in total and features in all games with Simba Queens striker Violeth and Asha Omary of Yanga.

Kenya and Goalkeeper Liliane Awuor received silver medals, while Uganda picked up bronze medals.

The CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship took place from 12th to 22nd June in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Five nations—Burundi, Kenya, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda—took part in the regional tournament organized by CECAFA in collaboration with the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF).
The competition was aimed at preparing CECAFA’s representative for the upcoming 2025 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
