International midfielder and Banyana Banyana vice-captain Refiloe Jane has extended her contract with Italian Serie A side AC Milan
Refiloe (28) joined AC Milan last season from Canberra United in Australia’s W-League and thus became the first South African woman to play in an Italian top-flight. She has quickly become a key part of AC Milan team.
After impressing in the 15 games she played, netting two goals before the campaign was suspended in March, she has now re-signed with the Italian’s club a new contract that will keep her to AC Milan.
The midfield maestro, who counts not less than 109 appearances and 12 goals scored for South Africa, has represented her country in multiple high international competitions. She was part of the Banyana Banyana squad that reached the final of the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana as well as playing at the 2019 World Cup in France. She represented South Africa at the 2012 London Olympics as well as the 2016 Summer Olympics.
