Irene renews with Barcelona
Spain international defender Irene Paredes signed a new two-year contract with FC Barcelona
Irene’s new deal with the club runs through 2027; it is the second extension since joining the club.
She is one of the best footballers in the world in her position, and since joining Barcelona in the summer 2021, she has become one of the team’s leaders. She has already made 143 appearances across all competitions for Barcelona. She has enjoyed superb seasons with the club so far, having won 12 trophies in total. She is the current fourth captain of the team.
With more than 100 caps, the Spain national team captain was in The Best FIFA Women’s 11 in 2024. She has won numerous international awards, including the 2023 World Cup and the 2024 Champion of the Nations League.
