Norway and Sweden progress to the last eight

27 Jun 2019

Seven of players represented by LTA agency in the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup have reached quarter-finals with Norway and Sweden.

Norway defeated Australia 4-1 on penalties to reach the FIFA Women’s World Cup’s last-eight for the first time since 2007 following a tough 1-1 draw after extra time. Lisa Utland, Stine HOVLAND, Cecilie Redisch KVAMME, Therese Sessy ÅSLAND, and Emilie NAUTNES are all part of this achievement. For their next adventure in the course to the trophy, the Grasshoppers will meet England’s Lionesses on Thursday at the Stade Océane in Le Havre (4.30pm).

Hedvig Lindahl’s smart saves sent Canada home and Sweden into quarters. She also bagged the Player of the Match award for her performance in the 1-0 win against Canada as she has bravely stopped a penalty shot. It’s Hedvig’s second clean sheet in four matches already played in this World Cup. Linda Sembrant is irreplaceable in the Swedish defense since the start of the competition, she has featured in all matches assuring the defense for 90 minutes in each game. Sweden will take on Germany in Roazhon Park in Rennes on Saturday, 29 June.

We wish all our players good luck in the quarterfinals.
