UEFA Women’s Champions League round of 32 draw: LTA players still in the running find out their opponents
The Round of 32 draw for Europe’s elite women’s club competition is out, and some stars represented by LTA Agency will take part in the clashes.
The draw ceremony held in Nyon, Switzerland on Tuesday morning brought out the following results:
Juventus FC players, Sofie Junge (DEN) and Linda Sembrant (SWE) will play against the current Champions League holders Olympique Lyonnais for a place in the last 16. The Italian champions have failed to progress beyond the last 32 in their two attempts in their three-year history. Lyon have won the competition a record five times in a row.
Njoya Ajara (CMR) will help Vålerenga’s front line when they take on Brøndby. The Norway team is debutant at this stage of the competition while their Danish adversary Brøndby is ever-present in the round of 32.
Irene Paredes (ESP) and Sign Bruun (DEN) will help Paris Saint-Germain against Górnik Łęczna from Poland. Irene and Signe reached semi-finals last season with their French outfit. Their opponents Górnik Łęczna are gracing the last 32 for the very first time.
Leonie Fleury (FRA) with Servette will face Atlético Madrid of Hedvig Lindahl (SWE), Alex Chidiac (AUS) and Virginia Torrecilla (ESP). The Switzerland champions Servette are debutants of the competition while the 3-time Spanish champions Atlético Madrid reached the quarter-finals last season.
Emma Berglund (SWE) of Göteborg will face English outfit Manchester City. Damallsvenskan Champions Göteborg reached the quarter-finals of the tournament in 2012 and 2013. City reached the semi-finals of the competition in both 2017 and 2018, last season they was eliminated in the last 16.
