Spain international star, Verónica Boquete has joined Italian Serie A side Fiorentina

Vero Boquete’s stint at AC Milan has come to an end while she has decided to stay in Italy with Florence’s storied outfit. The 34-year-old Galician arrived at AC Milan from Utah Royals in the USA in November 2020.

The Spanish midfielder has made 14 appearances with Milan in Serie A, four in Coppa Italia (scoring two decisive goals in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final against Inter Milan) and one in the Supercoppa. She was instrumental for the side last season in helping them achieve second place in the League and the Cup, and eventually gaining the first historic UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification.

This current season 2021-22, Vero has played in six league matches (two goals, three assists) and two others in the UEFA Champions League against Zürich and Hoffenheim.

Fiorentina is Vero’s second team in Italy and her fifteenth team in her life-long sports career. A complete midfielder, Vero is a versatile player who is capable of playing in a variety of roles, chiefly in the attacking third of the field. The experienced player can boast of having a bevy of accolades, including the fact that she was Spain’s all-time leading goal scorer until only recently despite not playing for Spain in the last 4 years, the first Spanish player ever to lift a UEFA Women’s Champions League Winners’ trophy with 1. FFC Frankfurt, and captaining her country in the Euros and the World Cup final tournaments.

One of the greatest players of all time, she has won international trophies with La Roja at the senior and youth level and has won trophies while playing for teams in Spain, Sweden, Germany, and the USA. She has also won the hearts and minds of fans in those countries, and in Russia, France, China, and Italy, as well.

LTA Agency wish Vero a very successful second half of the season in Italy and the best of luck at her new club.
