Three LTA players qualify for women’s Champions League quarter-final Irene Paredes of Barcelona; Linda Sembrant and Sofie Junge of Juventus

Barça is going into the next round as group C winners after winning all the six games played in the group stage. Irene played all these matches and score one goal. They will meet a Spanish rival Real Madrid in the quarter-finals on 22 and 30 March 2022.

FC Barcelona are the defending champions. They have been the first Spanish team to win the Champions League in the 2020/21 season. Irene who joined the club this season is an experienced defender used to champion league competitions, she has already reached the Champions League final with her former club PSG in 2016/17 season and the semis last year as well as quarter-final many times.

Juventus of Sembrant and Sofie has secured their first-ever UWCL quarter-finals qualification. They beat 4-0 Servette last week to finish second behind Wolfsburg in their competitive group A. They will face Lyon for their first-ever appearance in quarters.

Actually on top of the Italian league, Juventus will play their first quarter-final with experienced players as Sembrant and Sofie who have already played champions league final stages with their former clubs. Sweden defender Sembrant even already has won one Champions League title. Denmark midfielder Sofie played in all 6 group stages games to help her club to this historic qualification.

The first legs will be played on March 22 and 23 next year, with the return games on March 30 and 31.
