Italian international striker Pamela Conti scored the winning goal in RCD Espanyol’s 2:1 victory over city rivals FC Barcelona on Sunday to keep “Las blanquiazules” at the top of Group B of the new Spanish Superliga table with 29 points after the first part of the season.
The LTA agency client has proved an instant hit with the Spanish outfit and has taken her current goal tally to 15 in only 12 appearances.
In the game vs FC Barcelona she had an assist on the first goal by Lara before floating a beautiful left-footed half-volley over the hosts’ keeper to make the score 2:0.
Largely outplayed over the course of the match FC Barcelona cut the deficit thanks to former Espanyolista Marta Cubi. The game also featured another LTA Agency striker Espanyol’s Madrid-born Mery.
Palermo native, Conti will look to continue her sensational scoring form as RCD Espanyol commence the final phase of the 2009-2010 Superliga season by taking on Conti’s former club Levante UD in Valencia on Sunday January 10.
